3 Day First Aid at Work

 

Course Overview

 

This course covers the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and requires employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personel to enable first aid to be given to employees if they become injured or ill at work. These regulations apply to all workplaces including those with five or fewer employees and to the self employed. A risk assessment carried out by the employer will identify the cover required.

Included in the price of this course: workbook; first aid manual; face shield and a signed certificate valid for three years and recognised within the UK.

 

Course Schedule

 

Day One:

• Introduction;

• First aid, initial approach and unconsciousness;

• The respiratory system, circulatory system and resuscitation

• Asphyxia, choking and asthma

• Health and safety regulations and universal precautions

• Bleeding, shock and wounds

 

Day Two:

• Revision of day one and multi choice questionnaire

• Casualty assessment and practical

• Circulatory medical conditions

• Common medical conditions

• Fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains

 

Day Three:

• Spinal and Head injuries

• Eye injuries, burns, scalds and poisons

• MCQ covering all subjects

• Practical revision and final practical assessments

• AED

• Course debrief, results and closure
